Thimbleberry (Rubus Parviflorus)
$6.99
Thimbleberry (Rubus Parviflorus) is a pretty little red berry that grows wild upcountry here on Maui. This tiny delicate fruit is rare and does not usually make it to market. Try growing some in your cooler weather garden today. This seed is grown on Maui but at a higher (cooler) elevation.
We once hiked from the summit of Haleakala (our 10,000 ft. mountain here on Maui) to the Sea/out the Kaupo Gap. About half way down the mountain there were bushes of this plant growing in the Wild. All photos are copyright Tamara Bockius/MauiSeeds.com. I was somewhat delirious after so many hours hiking down the mountain but did manage to snap a photo!
This plant prefers to grow in a cool shaded area.
Each seed packet will contains 25+ fresh Maui grown Thimbleberry SEEDS. These freshly collected from the fruit seeds are packed in damp paper toweling in a sealed plastic baggie.
You can germinate your Thimbleberry seeds in the damp paper toweling/ plastic baggie that they arrive in or go ahead and place in a container of good potting soil and keep evenly moist.
