Starfruit (Carambola) Seeds
This listing is for 10+ (TEN) SEEDS freshly collected from our heavily producing Starfruit (Carambola) tree. This small Starfruit tree has been tucked away in the back of our orchard for 25 years now. I think that it is happy with the wind block created. This one small tree produces fruit several times a year, much more than one family can eat. I wet pack the seeds carefully in damp paper toweling inside a sealed plastic baggie. You may germinate your seeds in the packet that they arrive in or go ahead and plant in a container of good potting soil. Keep evenly watered and warm. Please read up on growing this wonderful tasting and looking tropical fruit in your specific area.
The pretty purple blossoms quickly form into unique shaped fruits. The flowers can be used as garnish in salads and the Starfruit itself is fun to cut sideways so that they can show off their unique star shape. Try garnishing a drink with a slice of Starfruit instead of a lemon wedge.
Children seem to like to eat the fruit whole, perfect for 'out of hand' eating, like an apple.
