• Lemon Drop Mangosteen Seed

    $6.99

Enjoy the fun of growing your own exotic fruit from a seed. This listing is for ONE (1) fresh, organically grown on Maui, Lemon Drop Mangosteen (Garcinia Intermedia) SEED. Your seed will arrive partially germinated wet packed/in damp paper toweling inside sealed plastic baggies. You may keep your seed in the baggie that it arrives in for a week or two longer, indoors with no light or go ahead and plant it in a container of good potting soil.
PLEASE NOTE, this is a tropical plant and must be kept between 75-85 degrees at all times. Please read up on how to grow this plant in your area. It is always a good idea to start your plants in containers and get a good root system growing before ever thinking about planting in the actual garden.  My Lemon Drop Mangosteen seeds have taken about 6 weeks to show the first seedling above the soil line.  Please be patient when growing this tropical fruit from a seed.  It may take closer to two months before you see any activity above the soil and what there is looks more like a thin reddish 'stick' than a green shoot.  Please see the photo with this listing showing the 2" two month old baby Lemon Drop seedling, so you have an idea what the time frame is for this plant.

Written instructions are not provided with or after you receive your order.  We grow everything outdoors here in Haiku, Maui.  We have a year round growing climate.  I will not be able to advise you on how to grow indoors in your particular climate.  Please plan on researching how to grow this plant where you live.  A lot of things just grow wild here on Maui.  It is always a good idea to learn as much as you can about the plant/seed that you intend on growing.  It is ideal to 'recreate' whatever a plants natural environment is and it will thrive for you.
