This annual flowering herb is very easy to grow for the Novice Gardener. Hibiscus sabdariffa is the plant that Red Zinger tea is made. The leaves of this useful plant are also edible, they taste similar to a spicy spinach. Hibiscus sabdariffa is also known as 'Roselle' or 'Jamaican Sorrel'.
This annual plant is easy to grow from seed and produces a pretty pink flower before it matures into the red edible pods (and non edible seeds) that are shown in the listing photos.
Place your seeds in a container of potting soil or plant directly in your garden. Full sun and keep evenly watered. Hibiscus sabdariffa has a very high Vitamin C content and can be used to make a delicious herbal tea.
