In season in our Haiku, Maui garden now, ALLSPICE (Pimenta dioica) SEEDS.  This listing is for FIVE (5) Allspice SEEDS. Larger sized seed packs offered while available. We collect fresh berries from our 25 year old Allspice tree.  Once your order is placed we pick, clean and ship these seeds to you.  The seeds are wet packed in damp paper toweling in a sealed plastic baggie and will remain viable on their way to you.
Your seeds can easily be germinated indoors in the baggie that they arrive in.  Please keep your seeds/seedlings between 75-85 degrees at all times.
Allspice is a very slow growing spice tree, making it very suitable for container gardening.   WHAT GROWING 'TIPS' WE HAVE TO OFFER YOU ARE BELOW IN THIS LISTING DESCRIPTION.
Please plan on researching how to grow this tropical spice tree where you are.  Written growing instructions are not provided with or after you receive your live Allspice seeds safely.   Patience is needed when growing a very slow grower like Allspice from a seed.  We do not offer refunds or replacements once an order is received safely, inspected + kept by you.  Thank you for understanding this firm policy before placing any orders for our live products.  We guarantee that these are fresh as possible Maui sourced seeds, we do not guarantee what happens to them once they are in your care.  We grow everything outdoors in Maui's year round growing climate.  We do not grow indoors.  Please do not write me and tell us how you have been using a 'heat mat' and there for everything should have grown.  We do not guarantee tropical seeds being grown indoors or in a cold environment, or a warm one for that matter-no one does.  It is up to each Gardener to grow their seeds.  Thank you for understanding that this is your personal gardening project, not ours together.
Allspice is a very slow grower. Your seeds will appear to 'plump up' and germinate after about 2-3 weeks in their damp baggies. They will appear to go 'dormant' after this stage, sort of do nothing.  Plant in containers of good potting soil. It will then take  about SIX months before you will see a tiny seedling about 1-2" tall emerge.  Allspice's slow growing nature makes them a wonderful container tree.  No refunds or replacements are offered for this live product.
The aromatic leaves of an Allspice tree are used in cooking, the same as Bay leaves. All parts of this delightful tree are edible, including the berries produced. The can be dried and crushed or used whole in cooking recipes. For the true Allspice Lover, The fresh berries can also be frozen and eaten whole, the same way as blueberries.
We offer a listing variation for the DRIED Allspice leaves as well as the freshly collected seeds.
